The art and cultural institutions of the SouthCoast are fortunate to be largely helmed by strong, capable and visionary women, acting as administrators and/or curators.

While hardly an all-inclusive list, they include Debra Charlebois at the Narrows Center for the Arts, Kathleen Hancock at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Gallery at Bristol Community College, Lindsay Mis at DATMA (Design Art Technology Massachusetts), Ashley Occhino and Jamie Uretsky at the New Bedford Art Museum, and Viera Levitt at the University Art Gallery at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Among this esteemed group of art professionals is Jodi Stevens, the executive director of the Marion Art Center, a position she was offered in 2018. Her resume is impressive, having served as operations manager at the New Bedford Port Society, and lead curator at the Dedee Shattuck Gallery in Wesport, to name but a few of her roles.
