MAY 4, 2019 VIVA PORTUGAL Full of music, history, food and fun, this street fair showcases the richness of Southcoast’s vibrant Portuguese-American culture. You don’t have to be Portuguese to appreciate the tastes and sounds – you won’t want to miss it!


MAY 19, 2019 TASTE OF SOUTHCOAST Nearly 20 local restaurants, bakeries and caterers serve up some of their best dishes, portioned into samples, in hopes of winning awards for their food, desserts, and booth presentation. Live music, beer garden, lawn games, face painting, and more on CIty Pier 3 along the working waterfront in the historic district.


JUNE 15, 2019 NEW BEDFORD JAZZFEST Music, art, food and drink – the perfect early summer combo! This annual rain or shine tented event highlights the best the region has to offer in many genres of live Jazz. Nestled on the docks amongst the colorful setting of New Bedford’s fishing fleet on Pier 3.


JULY 6, 2019 CAPE VERDEAN RECOGNITION PARADE Part of the Cape Verdean Recognition Week events that celebrate the diversity and multiculturalism the New Bedford community embodies as well as honoring Cape Verdean culture and heritage.


JULY 6 & 7, 2019 NEW BEDFORD FOLK FESTIVAL Two full days of the best in contemporary, Americana, traditional, blues and Celtic folk music. In addition to the musical performances, the festival offers activities that are free and open to the public, including: Family Fun Tent, Food Court & Bar and sevenblock craft vendor marketplace!


AUGUST 1 – 4, 2019 105TH ANNUAL FEAST OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT The world’s largest Portuguese Feast! Presenting a delightful menu of Portuguese cuisine and continuous live entertainment on four stages featuring top name entertainment plus cabaret style music and Fado singers in the quiet atmosphere of the Courtyard Café at the Museum of Madeiran Heritage. Plus, a family friendly carnival midway full of rides and games, a 5K Road Race, a mile long parade, and more!


JULY – SEPTEMBER 2019 LIQUID SHARD Alongside wind-themed exhibitions and collaborative programs with partners from arts and culture, science, and technology. DATMA is kicking things off next summer with a large-scale public installation by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics. His flying mylar sculpture, Liquid Shard, will be on view in Custom House Square.


SEPTEMBER 14, 2019 FOOD TRUCK & CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL Featuring 20+ of the New Bedford area’s most delicious food trucks as well as regional and national craft beers. Live music, artisan area, lawn games, and more.
